A Letter From Provost Clark
Greetings DU students, faculty, staff, and prospective community members,
We are living in a critically important moment in history. At DU, we stand together as a diverse community. We are constantly learning and growing as we work together to make our community and world a better and more equitable place. In all that we do, we strive to uphold our values of excellence, innovation, equity, integrity and inclusiveness. This is our duty – and one we are honored to uphold -- as a great institution dedicated to the public good.
One of the things that sets DU apart is the robust engagement between our faculty and students. We embrace a teacher-scholar model, which builds knowledge through our faculty’s research, scholarship, teaching and creative work. Our students seek not just a degree, but a truly holistic experience emphasizing emotional intelligence, cultural competence, global citizenship and ethical leadership. Education plays a transformative role in the lives of our graduates and the societies in which they live, helping to grow the public good. A DU education has impact. Our undergraduate students have a 92% placement rate in careers and graduate school within six months of graduation, and 93.4% of our master’s students and 98.1% of doctoral students were employed, continuing their education, or pursuing service/military activities six months after graduation.
I am excited to further our commitment to academic excellence and access to opportunity, and I look forward to getting to know you. Please say hello if you see me on campus!
With very best regards,
Mary Clark
Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor
